Wifi and bluetooth are currently the most wireless transmission protocols we use. For different places, we have different ideas about their use. Wifi is more used on the Internet, while bluetooth is used for local area network. For our face-to-face file transfer, bluetooth is faster wireless transmission than wifi.

Wi-fi is a technology that connects personal computers, handheld devices (such as pdas, mobile phones) and other terminals wirelessly to each other. Wi-fi is a brand of wireless Internet communications technology owned by the wi-fi Alliance. The aim is to improve interoperability between wireless Internet products based on IEEE 802.11 standards. Wi-fi and IEEE 802.11 are commonly confused. Even wi-fi is synonymous with wi-fi. Bluetooth, a wireless technology that supports short-distance communication (within 10 MB), is a standard for wireless communication networks. They all work in the ISM2.4GHz public band. They all use the 2.4ghz band, so a 2.4ghz wifi jammer can interfere with their wireless transmission.

The bluetooth uses the FHSS (frequency hopping spectrum) method, which normally jumps 1600 times per second and divides the 83.5mhz band into 79 band channels, which only account for 1MHz of bandwidth at each moment. Modulation method is GFSK (gaussian frequency shift keying), at the same time to wireless data and voice communication distance is generally 10 meters, in April the latest version of Bluetooth4.0 transmission distance can be up to 50 meters. Nowadays, bluetooth functions can be integrated into all kinds of digital products, such as mobile phones, earphones, printers, key mice, cameras and so on.

The protocol used by wifi is the ieee802.11b LAN protocol, which has a transmission range of 100 meters and can reach the maximum speed of 11Mbps, using DSSS(direct sequence spread spectrum) and QPSK or BPSK(phase shift keyer). The bandwidth is 22MHz. It mainly provides wireless Internet business, so it can often be seen in devices that need wireless mobile Internet, such as laptops, pdas, smart phones, etc. Bluetooth belongs to WPAN wireless domain network, namely point-to-point. And wifi belongs to WLAN wireless LAN, multiple terminal simultaneous transmission network mode.

In layman's terms, both of them are wireless technology and WIFI coverage is faster than bluetooth. Bluetooth is a low-speed short-range wireless communication technology, with a speed of 3Mpbs, effective within 10m. Wifi technology is a high speed short-range wireless communication technology with a speed of up to 300Mpbs and an effective distance of about 100m. Both use internationally recognized free band transmission, but bluetooth is more secure than wifi.
